We believe God is the eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing and ever-present uncreated Creator of all things. God is Triune; one essence that eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, Spirit. There is one God. God is love, truth, wisdom, peace and perfect goodness. He is wise, just, holy, merciful, gracious and intimately personal, engaging man and woman, who are the pinnacle of His creation work, in personal relationship. We believe Jesus is the eternal Son of God, co-eternal with the Father and Spirit, yet separate in person. He was active in creation and God’s interactions with mankind, then at the fullness of time, became incarnate in the flesh, born of the virgin Mary. Jesus lived a completely sinless life, perfectly displaying God’s character and the nature of His kingdom. He physically and literally died on the cross and was buried, rising to physical, literal, new life in His resurrection. As our High Priest, Jesus’ death was the perfect satisfaction of God’s wrath on all of sin—past, present and future. As the perfect Sacrifice, Jesus’ death was a substitute for all who place their faith in Him. We believe the person of the Holy Spirit is co-eternal with the Father and Son, yet distinct in person. He was active in creation and God’s interactions with mankind, but has been specially released in the earthly ministry of Jesus and in the birth of the church. The Holy Spirit fully indwells every individual who trusts in Jesus Christ for salvation; He is the seal of our redemption, the downpayment of God inside of every believer, who is the temple of the Holy Spirit. He convicts of sin, leads and guides God’s children, yields fruit in the lives of believers, and dispenses God’s grace/spiritual gifts of empowerment as God wills. We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament Scriptures are inspired by the Holy Spirit of God and are without error in their original form. In every word and collectively, they are a miracle of Divine revelation and preservation. The Bible is living and active, the one true story of the world and of God’s nature and works. Under the purpose and work of the Holy Spirit, the Scriptures are our guide for knowledge of God, salvation, holiness, spiritual formation, growth in grace, mission and relationship. We believe mankind, individually female and male, was created by God in His own image. As God’s imagers, we reflect His nature and character to each other and to the world. The first man and woman, Adam and Eve, rebelled against God and thereby unleashed sin and the curse, even upon the physical creation itself. This sinful state was transferred to every person thereafter, the result being spiritual death and separation from God. Therefore, we are all born into sin and are separated from God. Without any power to change this position, mankind is hopeless in this state without the intervention and grace of God. We believe that God Himself, once and for all, solved the problem of sin in the person and work of Jesus, the eternal Son of God. Jesus’ sinless life, real death and physical resurrection are the heart of the Good News of God and the sufficient provision for God’s free offer of forgiveness, acceptance and eternal life by faith in Jesus. These are the free gifts of God’s grace based on the once condition of faith in Jesus. Faith is believing trust in Jesus’ person (the son of God) and work (death and resurrection as the payment of sin). Through faith in Jesus, God grants eternal life, the perfect righteousness of Jesus, secure adoption in His family and the indwelling of His Holy Spirit. We believe it is the privilege of all believers, identified by faith in Jesus Christ, to enjoy the assurance of knowing their salvation. Our assurance is first grounded in God’s perfect ability to keep His promise to save us by faith. We believe that God’s free gift of grace in salvation is secure and sufficient to cover struggles with sin, spiritual maturity challenges, doubts and periods of perceived distance from God. The security of one’s salvation by faith is a reflection of the loyal love and perseverance of God with his daughters and sons. We believe the responsibility and joy of all believers is found in the path of discipleship; being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and doing what Jesus did. The journey and process of spiritual growth is progressive and covered by God’s grace, bearing the fruit of increased intimacy with God, power, joy, impact and protection. Struggles and difficulties in discipleship (sanctification) have consequences, yet are distinct from the security of one’s salvation by faith (justification). We believe all those who have trusted in Jesus by faith are part of the church, Jesus’ body on the earth. The church, comprised of all nations, tribes and tongues, is God’s chosen plan for the proclamation of the gospel throughout the earth and the care of His children by faith. The church, therefore, is not a building but a family of Jesus-followers, an assembly of the forgiven, those saved by God the Father, through faith in Jesus the Son, indwelled by the Holy Spirit, united as one body, directed by the Scriptures, the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. We believe that Jesus the Son will physically return to the earth, setting up His kingdom in a renewed and perfected earth in power and judgment. Now seated at the right hand of the Father, Jesus will soon return to forever eliminate sin, the curse, death and the devil. He will perfectly redeem all things and be the center of joyful worship forever.rule of faith. rule of faith.
At grace house we take God seriously. For us, it’s all about Jesus. Therefore our understanding of God the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Scriptures, and more, is extremely important. These are matters of theology—both biblical theology and systematic theology—which is a very good thing. Theology matters.
Gleaned entirely from the inspired words of Scripture, we, at grace house, will enduringly hold to the following points as our Rule of Faith, also called a Statement of Faith. These foundational doctrines and core biblical beliefs will be central and sacrosanct for us.

At grace house, we believe and hold to much more than these articles, but these are the foundational and core beliefs. When church membership, a practical and relational link to identity and community, is finally available at grace house, these foundational beliefs—our Rule of Faith—will form one aspect of membership essentials.
