First of all, we are a new family. Grace House only started meeting on Sundays on January 12, 2025. Our pastor, Scot Pollok, has been serving the church for over 30 years, but grace house only just began gathering. That means we are just getting started, but we have a deep history. Our gatherings and family style is pretty simple. We dress however we are comfortable without being distracting. We take it pretty easy that way. We long to be a warm family, filled with grace, smiles, hugs, and laughter. We cry together, pray for each other, are real and value vulnerability. We spend a lot of time around a cup of good coffee or a meal. We gather around worship, prayer and the word as a priority on Sundays, lingering in an unhurried posture of expectation. Yes. We take great care of kids, birth through 5 years old, on Sunday mornings. But we also shepherd them with intentional story and teaching times as appropriate to their age. We long to be more than just great babysitters. We want to pray and spiritually invest in kids, all in the name of Jesus. We love kids of all ages, but we intentionally value families worshipping and praying together in service. We invite kids older than five to sit with their families and siblings, worship, sing, pray and listen. If quiet activity books or other simple helps can foster this, please prepare this for your kids. But something powerfully important, and largely missing in the church today, happens when kids see a parent worship, pray and engage the Word. We currently meet at 3PM on Sundays because, as a new church, it has been extremely difficult to find adequate space to meet on Sunday mornings in the area of Conroe to which we feel called. Since the summer of 2024 we have been exploring options and plan to move to Sunday mornings as soon as God provides a space and the means to gain one. On the other hand, afternoon gatherings have opened up new opportunities with people that are an unexpected blessing. Yes. We hope to move to Sunday mornings for worship gatherings, but do not have a time schedule for that as of now. No viable leads, nor funding, have presented themselves. We are actively looking, praying, saving and waiting. As a young church, we need a lot of help. Regular meals provide a lot of needs. Setting up and tearing down (even though we have the generous benefit of being in a location that already has chairs and AV) takes a lot of hands. Cleaning takes even more. But we also invite servants to greet at the doors, help in the parking lot, help with tech, help serve the Lord’s Supper, help on the prayer team and help with special events. Filling out a simple form can start the process. Soon we will begin adding House Churches into the central rhythms of our church life together at grace house. House Churches will be robust small groups of life, community, relationship, pastoral care, prayer and the Word led by trained and equipped “pastors,” typically one or two couples. House Churches will meet regularly in homes and be the first level of community, support and care. We are in the process of identifying, training and preparing house church pastors to begin gathering in the Fall of 2025, Lord willing. Pray with us and for us to that end. We believe that students – junior high and high school age – are a powerfully important group of women and men, particularly because of the unique growth, development and ownership that occurs at this age of life. We therefore want to regularly gather, engage and equip students for ownership of their faith, the ability to live out and defend their faith in the real world, and to enjoy the kind of community and support that other students of similar age can provide. We will begin this as soon as the Lord provides leaders and a clear path forward. We similarly value gathering men, women and young adults to specifically address the opportunities and challenges inherent to their roles and life stages. We will do this beginning in the fall of 2025 and regularly and intentionally.I’m new. I’m new.
